Sci-fi movies have been around for ages. From average-looking claymations to very realistic-like computer-generated imagery, or better known as CGI. Yet no matter what period of time any sci-fi movie was released, people enjoy them every single time. This is due to the fact that a majority of the people in our society longs for some sort of escapism. You see, sci-fi movies bring us something that we might only get to see in the far future or might not get to see at all. So, we can sort of relish in the temporary reality while watching sci-fi movies.
Plus, since CGI has come a long way and looks very realistic now, we kind of get to see things that don’t even exist come to life. For instance, when the first Alien (1979) movie showed up with Sigourney Weaver playing Ellen Ripley, one of the main characters, everyone was thrilled watching how a group of people fought off or fought against aliens in outer space. Whether they really exist or not is still debatable, by the way. But hey, it was fun being part of the Alien franchise throughout all the movies.
Aside from seeing new things, we get to experience them along with the characters in the movie. We get scared with them and thrilled with them, laugh and cry with them too. It’s a matter of getting to experience something that we might not get to experience with amazing characters. You’ll know the feeling if you’re a movie lover. So, grab your popcorn or some Delta 8 THC Gummies and relax, take a look at these sci-fi movies that will leave you wondering:
Signs
This movie that was released in 2002 was an intense movie. It made me question if there were really aliens out there and if they were, are they really as intelligent and complex as how they are portrayed in the movie. In the movie, the aliens were smart, vengeful, and very complex. They have poison glands in their arms that can release poisonous gas and they can also change the solar of their skin like a chameleon to camouflage themselves. Directed by the famous M. Night Shyamalan, and starring Mel Gibson alongside Joaquin Phoenix, this movie brought out a lot of emotions. Happiness, sadness, fear and surprise. The movie was well portrayed and it captured a lot of people’s hearts.
Men In Black Trilogy
I don’t even have to introduce this blockbuster trilogy. Men in Black started back in 1997, adapted from a comic book series titled “The Men in Black”. You see, back in the day around the 1940s, there were already rumours about men in black suits visiting anyone who has ever witnessed an extraterrestrial happening. For instance, spotting a flying saucer or experiencing weir and unexplainable situations. And these men visited them to, allegedly, warn them to not tell the media or anyone else. It’s as if their life mission was to keep any extraterrestrial encounter a secret from the world. Thus, that’s what they portrayed in the trilogy. Throughout all three movies, there was always a scene where they had to erase someone’s mind, just by a few minutes, to let them forget what they saw. How they portrayed the reasoning was good too. It was basically because they didn’t want the human race to feel scared or panic because when humans panic, humans tend to be hostile or frantic. The Men in Black only wanted peace between humans and extraterrestrial beings.
Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park is a classic. Releasing three movies from 1993 to 2001 before proceeding to expand their franchise with Jurassic World in 2015 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018. Throughout these movies, we’ve been following their journey from the first experiment with dinosaurs to the downfall.
This movie showed us what it’d be like if dinosaurs still existed or, as they portrayed it, were able to be recreated. However, the recreation led to what can only be a huge mistake. This is because when they created something that was supposed to be extinct and then expected these creations to act like pets, they were gravely wrong. Nonetheless, the Jurassic movies gave us an experience like no other dinosaur movie.

Sci-fi movies, to this day, provide experiences for us that we might not get to experience. For that, a lot of people tend to appreciate them and genuinely enjoy watching or rewatching them because these movies let them wonder of the things that could or can happen.
